Blum innovates at Interzum

Interzum is still the place to be for those who want to discover the latest innovations in the furniture industry. There, Blum was among those delighted to present their latest innovations and products to the general public. Under the central theme 'Moving ideas' Blum showed its innovative personality at the fair. As always, the customer and the user were central. Together with them, they want to work on and think about ideas that lead to products that can offer added value for processors and consumers. At their stand they showed an ideal combination of product innovations and inspiration for practical and sometimes even futuristic solutions.

The step to even more storage space

The impact of urbanisation can already be clearly felt in our homes. Living spaces are becoming smaller and this trend will continue to increase. An efficient use of the available (storage) space will be one of the key challenges in furniture design and Blum responds to this very well.
At Interzum Blum presented the SPACE STEP. This drawer in the cupboard plinth creates extra storage capacity in a space you would otherwise leave unused. In addition, the system is equipped with a handy step, so extra space high up becomes accessible as well.

New possibilities

And they responded to the needs of a small home in another way as well. With their new pocket door system, they have found an ideal way to be able to close certain spaces completely. The system does not only hide the space, it also ensures excellent accessibility thanks to doors that can be slid into the wall completely. This product will be developed further in order to adapt it entirely to the customer's needs.

Lift system becomes smaller

With the AVENTOS HK top Blum is bringing a smaller version of the tested lift system on the market. The lifting mechanism fits perfectly into every cabinet thanks to its compact size and modern cover design. The symmetrical system can easily be installed on both sides in the cabinet, and thanks to the integrated, sliding opening angle limiter you can determine exactly how far the front can be opened. This new AVENTOS will also be available with the electric opening support system SERVO-DRIVE. This allows you to open the cabinet by lightly touching the front and to close it just as easily thanks to an integrated switch. This new lift system will be available after the summer.

A revolutionary method

When it comes to the assembly and installation of (complex) furniture fittings, precision is a must if you want them to function smoothly. With the EASYSTICK for MINIPRESS Blum has made configuring the machines and transmitting drilling positions much easier, thanks to a ruler with automated stops and a control unit with a display.
With the MINIPRESS top they will soon bring the newest generation of drilling and insertion machines on the market. The machine makes it very easy to drill holes along the horizontal and the vertical axis. Combined with the EASYSTICK system and a handy attachment method for the different drill chucks, it allows furniture makers and manufacturers to perform a lot of high-precision work in no time.

Smart Kitchen

Interzum also remains the ideal place to present new concept studies to the public as a test. This year as well Blum showed its most innovative side, for example with voice control applications in the smart kitchen of the future. The SERVO-DRIVE smart allows you to open drawers, lift systems, dishwashers and even refrigerators by means of simple commands.
The possibilities are as creative as they are diverse. Think, for instance, of the combination with the CABLOXX locking system, which allows you to make your kitchen child-proof with a single command, or opening the waste bin pull-out without needing to touch the front.

Obviously Blum's other fittings systems also got a place at the impressive stand. Smart hinge solutions for a wide range of applications, box and runner systems that can be equipped with all the usual motion technology… They remain the Austrian manufacturer's star products, and there as well they continue to innovate in order to meet the customer's expectations even better with their products. For instance, next year a new table top stop will be put on the market. This will make it easy to fix a pulled out table top in that position. But they also carried out a new concept study to determine the interest among the professional public in a milled AVENTOS lift system and gave visitors a sneak peek of a brand-new box system that is in full development.
